Admission Requirements

1. Graduate programs

Duration of the Study (all graduate Programs)

The normal duration of the study for all graduate programs is two years (4 semesters) for regular program and 3 years (8 semesters including 2 summer semesters) for extension program. A total of 36 credit hours of course including the thesis is considered as a full load of the program. A student can complete the program in a minimum of two years but can take a maximum of up to five years.

1.1 Masters of Business Administration

Admission Requirement

To obtain admission to the MBA program, applicants should fulfil the following admission requirements:

  • A minimum of BA degree from accredited institution in any field;
  • The applicant must pass the written examination set by the Department of Management to assess the individual’s competence and preparedness to pursue a graduate program. The exam will be an aptitude test containing Mathematics and English;
  • Applicants who have attended study abroad should bring certificates equivalence approved and authenticated by Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency (HERQA);
  • Foreign applicants, have to have valid passport and entry visa to Ethiopia, with residence permits and preferably student visa.

1.2 Msc in Project Management

Admission Requirement

The prospective candidate to join the MSc in Project Management must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree. The program is normally designed for those who have followed relevant and appropriate undergraduate studies at recognized Ethiopian Universities/Colleges or an equivalent academic qualification from a similar international institution. To obtain admission to the program, applicants should fulfil the following entrance requirements accordingly:

  • A successful completion of at least a Bachelor’s Degree in business studies, social sciences, technology, health science etc.
  • The applicants must have minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00.
  • The applicant must pass the written examination set by the Department of Economics to assess the individuals’ competence and preparedness to pursue a graduate program. The entrance exam will be prepared to measure the candidate’s subject area knowledge, English language proficiency and computational skill;
  • Foreign applicants, have to have valid passport and entry visa to Ethiopia, with residence permits; preferably student visa.
  • Applicants who have attended study abroad should bring certificates equivalence approved and authenticated by Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency (HERQA).

1.3 Msc in Finance and Investment Management

Admission Requirement

To obtain admission to the MSc in Finance and Investment Management program, applicants should fulfil the admission requirements

  • A minimum of BA degree from accredited institution in Accounting and Finance, Cooperative Accounting, cooperative accounting & auditing, cooperative business management banking and insurance, Banking and Finance, Commerce (accounting/finance major), business administration, Management, Business Education (accounting or banking or insurance major) and International Trade & Investment Management;
  • The applicant must pass the written examination set by the department of Accounting and Finance to assess the individuals’ competence and preparedness to pursue a graduate program. The entrance exam will be prepared to measure the candidate’s subject area knowledge, English language proficiency and computational skill.
  • Applicants who have attended study abroad should bring certificates equivalence approved and authenticated by Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency (HERQA).
  • Foreign applicants, have to have valid passport and entry visa to Ethiopia, with residence permits; preferably student visa.

1.4 Master of Science in Accounting and Finance

Admission Requirement

To obtain admission to the MSc in Accounting and Finance program, applicants should fulfil the admission requirements

  • A minimum of BA degree from accredited institution in Accounting and Finance, Cooperative Accounting, cooperative accounting & auditing, banking and insurance, Banking and Finance, Commerce (accounting/finance major), and Business Education (accounting or banking or insurance major).
  • The applicant must pass the written examination set by the Department of Accounting and Finance to assess the individuals’ competence and preparedness to pursue a graduate program. The entrance exam will be prepared to measure the candidate’s subject area knowledge, English language proficiency and computational skill.

1.5 Master of Science in Development Economics

Admission Requirement

To obtain admission to the MSc in Development Economics program, applicants should fulfil the admission requirements of the School of Graduate Studies of Lunar International College. The program is open to any applicant with a minimum of BA/BSc Degree in Economics, Development Economics, Finance and Development Economics, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resources Economics, Environmental Economics, and Statistics. Students from other disciplines can also join the program after taking bridging courses. The courses include the following: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Mathematics for Economists, Introduction to Econometrics. If the students have already taken any of these courses, the courses will be exempted.

  • The applicant must pass the written examination set by the department of Economics to assess the individuals’ competence and preparedness to pursue a graduate program. The entrance exam will be prepared to measure the candidate’s subject area knowledge, English language proficiency and computational skill;
  • Foreign applicants, have to have valid passport and entry visa to Ethiopia, with residence permits; preferably student visa.
  • Applicants who have attended study abroad should bring certificates equivalence approved and authenticated by Higher Education Relevance and Quality Agency (HERQA).

2. Undergraduate program

Admission Requirement

Applicants for admission to the BA Degree in Business Management program must satisfy any of the following criteria:

  1. He/she must complete the two-year Preparatory School education and obtain the necessary pass marks in the Ethiopian University Entrance Examination (EUEE) or when the student completed his Secondary Education abroad, he/she must be with of equivalent academic achievements as determined by the Ministry of Education (MoE).
  2. An applicant who has successfully completed diploma program (12+2 and 10+3) and Level 4 TVET program from an accredited university/college must satisfy the following criteria

– Two-year relevant work experience after graduation

– Certification of occupational competency (COC) assessment from Level I to IV.

– Pass the college’s entrance examination;

3.A degree program student from other accredited Higher Education Institutions with

– legal withdrawal and/or

– Transferred in case of institutional preference or field choice;

4.An applicant who has successfully completed a degree program at any level (BSc/BA/MSc/MA/PhD) from an accredited university/college. Applicants who have attended a degree program at any level abroad should bring higher education equivalence letter from HERQA

5.Foreign applicants should have valid passport and entry visa to Ethiopia, with residence permits; preferably student visa.

6.In case of high competition for admission, the result from entrance examination of the college will be taken in to account. The entrance exam will be an aptitude test containing Mathematics and English


2.1 Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Finance

Duration of the Study

2.2 BA Degree in Marketing Management

Duration of the Study

The normal duration of the study for BA Degree in Accounting and Finance is four years (8 semesters) for regular program and five years (14 semesters including 4 summer semesters for extension (evening and weekend) program. A total of 149 credit hours of course and research project work (the final year research project) is considered as a full load of the program.


2.3 BA Degree in Business Management

Duration of the Study

The normal duration of the study for BA Degree in Business Management is four years (8 semesters) for regular program and five years (14 semesters including 4 summer semesters for extension (evening and weekend) program. A total of 147 credit hours of course which include the research project work (the final year research project) is considered as a full load of the program.
